PROJECT INTERFACE

Project INTERFACE is an initiative within the Freedman Center at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. The initiative’s core mission is to help integrate mental health services between the schools and community, including primary care practitioners. On the web site www.projectinterface.org is a collection of valuable resources related to mental health and wellness for the benefit of the general public - children, adults, and families - as well as educators and mental health professionals.

In addition to these free resources, Project INTERFACE maintains a mental health and wellness referral help line Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., at (617) 332-3666, Ext. 411. This is a free, confidential referral service for participating communities. Callers are matched from an extensive database of licensed mental health providers. Each referral meets the location, insurance, and specialty needs of the caller.

Online user-friendly resource directory for western Massachusetts

The Western Massachusetts MCPAP team at Baystate Medical Center provides a directory of mental health resources. The Baystate team developed this directory to help primary care clinicians (PCCs) who treat children and adolescents assist their patients with finding appropriate mental health care.

South Shore Coalition of Independent Therapists – Search for independent therapists by name, town, specialty, insurance, and specialized groups.

Search for Substance Abuse Services in Massachusetts at the EOHHS web site or search for Substance Abuse providers at the Massachusetts Substance Abuse Information and Education Helpline.

Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project (MCPAP) - Call your local MCPAP office for help with referrals to a wide variety of behavioral health service providers all over Massachusetts. The Social Work Therapy Referral Service is a free, confidential telephone referral service. It provides professional, personalized counseling referrals matched for location, specialty, and insurance or fee requirements. The telephone numbers are (617) 720-2828 and 1-800-242-9794.
