MCPAP Services for Primary Care Clinicians (PCCs)

  • Telephone Consultation with a child psychiatrist within 30 minutes of call
  • Training and Behavioral Health Education

Consultations result in one of the following outcomes depending on the needs of the family and the child:

     1. An answer to the PCP's question
     2. Referral to the team care coordinator to assist the family in accessing local behavioral health services
     3. Referral to the team social worker to provide transitional (interim) face-to-face or telephonic support to the child and family
     4. Referral to team child psychiatrist for an acute psychopharmacological or diagnostic consultation

MCPAP Regional Teams 

Regional MCPAP teams consist of child psychiatrists, licensed social worker(s), one care coordinator, and appropriate administrative support. Some teams also have a registered clinical nurse specialist (RNCS).
