TEAM MEMBERS:

John Sargent, MD is Vice Chair for Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry and Chief of Child Psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center. He is
also Professor of Psychiatry at the Tufts University School of
Medicine. He also is the Residency Director in Triple Board Program at
Tufts. Dr. Sargent is a national leader in Child Psychiatry, training
in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Family Therapy. Dr. Sargent
received his B.S. from MIT and his M.D. at the University of Rochester
School of Medicine. He completed residency training in Pediatrics at
the University of Wisconsin, and residency training in General
Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of
Pennsylvania. He is board certified in General Psychiatry, Child and
Adolescent Psychiatry, and Pediatrics. Dr. Sargent has written over 70
articles on a number of topics including family therapy, traumatic
stress in children and adolescents, eating disorders, adolescent
suicide, psychological problems in chronically physically ill children
and training in mental health care. He is highly regarded as a
lecturer, having spoken on a wide range of topics both nationally and
internationally.

Rebecca Schmitt LMHC received her graduate degree in
Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. She has worked at
Tufts Medical Center for the past 10 years in the Department of
Psychiatry and now serves as the Administrative Director for the
department.

Alexis Hinchey, MSW, LICSW received her MSW from Boston
College. Alexis has experience working in a variety of settings,
including acute residential treatment, hospitals, schools, and prisons.
She has worked with many populations, including children and adults and
those with mental illness and developmental disabilities. Alexis has
been with MCPAP since 2006.

Rachael Roy Gorton, care coordinator for our Metro-Boston II
region, received a BA from Saint Michael's College in VT, with a
concentration in psychology and a minor in gender studies. Rachael has
prior experience working with victims of crime and sexual assault. She
has also worked with and counseled families trying to have children
through surrogacy. Rachael led the MCPAP pilot for care coordination
follow up with families and is currently pursuing a master's degree in
social work at Salem State University. She has been with MCPAP since
2011.
PSYCHIATRIC CONSULTANTS:



Dr. Hesham Hamoda is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at
Boston Children's Hospital and an
Assistant Professor at the Harvard Medical School. He also serves as a
Vice President of the International Association for Child and
Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (IACAPAP).
Dr. Hamoda completed his Psychiatry training at the Harvard South Shore
Program followed by a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at
Boston Children's Hospital/ Harvard
Medical School. He also holds a master-degree in Public Health from the
Harvard School of Public Health. He has been recognized through awards
from Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard
Medical School and several national and international organizations
including the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the
Group for Advancement of Psychiatry and the International Association
for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions.

Dr. Neha Sharma is involved in training Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry Fellows as the Program Director of Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry Division in Psychiatry Department at Tufts Medical Center.
She has the position of Assistant Professor at Tufts School of Medicine
since she is the course director of Introduction of Clinical Psychiatry
for first year medical students. Dr. Sharma also directs Pediatric Mood
and Anxiety Disorder Clinic and participates in Massachusetts Child
Psychiatry Access Project. She is further interested in topics like
gender variant children and adolescents, medical education, mentorship,
global mental health, and cultural psychiatry. Dr. Sharma attended New
York College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical education, Rutgers
University- New Jersey Medical School for Adult Psychiatry Residency,
and Tufts Medical Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Fellowship, respectively.
